Loudoun County, VA (October 25, 2023) – Update:  The pedestrian involved in the fatal crash on October 23, 2023, has been identified as 75-year-old, Bimla Agarwal, 75, of Ashburn, VA. 

Loudoun County, VA (October 24, 2023) – In a tragic turn of events, Ashburn community members are mourning the loss of a 75-year-old woman following a harrowing accident on the evening of October 23, 2023.

The incident unfolded at the bustling intersection of Old Ryan Road and Hammersmith Place. At approximately 5:46 p.m., Loudoun County emergency responders rushed to the scene amidst reports of a serious collision between an SUV and a pedestrian.

The victim, a respected elder from the Ashburn community, was urgently transported to a nearby hospital in an attempt to save her life. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, she succumbed to her injuries, casting a somber mood over the locality.

Early findings from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office paint a concerning picture, indicating that the victim was within the parameters of the crosswalk at the time of the accident.
