Loudoun Board Approves Historic Aldie Assemblage Sale to Piedmont Environmental Council for $600K

Aldie Assemblage Property

The Loudoun Board of Supervisors, in their December 5, 2023, meeting, sanctioned the sale of the Aldie Assemblage, a 6.42-acre county-owned property, to the Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) for $600,000. This property, situated on Little River Turnpike, is notable for its historical tavern and additional structures. The agreement permits the county to lease a crucial parcel with a garage at no cost, essential for the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue System’s swift water rescue equipment. The arrangement also involves collaboration with the Aldie Volunteer Fire Department for the usage of shared land until the new Aldie Fire Station becomes operational. PEC, a non-profit dedicated to conservation, plans significant renovations, including the historic tavern. The Board’s decision empowers the County Administrator to finalize the purchase and lease agreements. For comprehensive details, refer to the staff report prepared for the Board of Supervisors.
