Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Hunts for Key Witness in Shooting on Albemarle Road in Sterling

Loudoun County, VA (January 11, 2024) – Local authorities are urgently seeking assistance from the public in a shooting investigation in Sterling. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to a shooting incident that unfolded near Albemarle Road’s 1000 block.

On the evening of Wednesday, January 10, around 7:18 PM, deputies were alerted to gunfire on Albemarle Road. The initial findings suggest a white vehicle hit a dog on the road and then sped away heading south. The dog’s owner, reportedly armed with a gun, shot several rounds at the fleeing vehicle.

Authorities have apprehended Steven Drew, 43, in connection with the incident. He faces charges of Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle and is currently held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

The LCSO is now reaching out for the driver of the white vehicle to step forward. They are also calling on anyone who was in the vicinity and might have witnessed the event to contact Detective S.
